The relative rib area fR serves as a parameter for the quality of the bond. The relative rib area of the TITAN thread is very high; it lies close to the optimum value of fR = 0.21 - fR = 0.33 and is therefore many times higher than the relative rib area of ribbed reinforcing bars (fR = 0.056). In addition to the good bond, the rib surfaces at an angle of 45° reduce the splitting forces. The crack widths at maximum load lie below the 0.1 mm.
